The U-18 Galaxy represented CUSC in stellar fashion as they played brilliantly in the Greensboro Labor Day Tournament. The team recorded wins in all four of their matches, including a stunning 4 – 1 victory over a formidable squad from Chantilly in northern Virginia, who were winners of the Virginia Cup. The Galaxy fought back from a 2 -1 halftime deficit in their first match to begin their consistent run against all opponents.
With seven different players finding the back of the net, the Galaxy used a balanced attack to score 19 goals, giving up only 4 against. Congratulations to the defense: Sydney, Lindsay, Liz, Ariel and goalkeeper Krysten for their hard work and determination to play as a unit.
After the previous weekend’s harsh reality check at the Richmond Friendlies, the Galaxy returned to their characteristic team soccer style and dominating possession play. The Galaxy is currently 2 – 0 in tournament results and looks forward to the season with anticipation.
Coach A, Coach Randy and Coach Dill would like to congratulate everyone on the team who contributed to this tremendous result and let them know how proud we are of this effort. Go Galaxy!
