Velocity Sports Performance is the premier sports performance training company in Hampton Roads. Velocity is dedicated to helping athletes of all ages and skill levels develop their full athletic potential. Velocity Sports Performance focuses on overall athletic development, using proven scientific-based methodologies to enhance an athlete’s speed, power and agility.
Located in the Greenbrier area of Chesapeake and Hampton, Virginia Velocity Sports Performance has two unique, state-of-the-art training facilities. Athletes receive high energy training in a safe, supportive and positive environment. We provide athletes with the latest speed and agility equipment and degreed and certified coaches in a small group setting. Athletes receive a motivating, physical activity experience that gets their attention and more importantly gets results!
Throughout a Velocity program, Soccer athletes will benefit in the following areas:
§ 1st Step Quickness (acceleration) – Soccer athletes will become more explosiveness and increase their quickness by gaining the ability to produce speed quickly. Increasing acceleration will improve a player’s ability to blow past defenders and drive hard to the goal.
§ Change of Direction Speed – Athletes will learn how to optimize their effectiveness to move in any given direction and quickly accelerating and decelerating. Whether on offense or defense, a player’s ability to quickly and efficiently change direction will allow them to maneuver around an opponent.
§ Injury Prevention – Velocity’s injury prevention program focuses on educating athletes to train, strengthen and increase the flexibility within vulnerable areas such as knees, hips, ankles and low back to help minimize common injuries that occur in soccer.
§ Strength Program – Velocity’s strength program can be tailored to meet the specific needs of a soccer athlete. Specifically our program focuses on improving upper body, lower body, and rotational power for shots on goal, throw-ins, corner kicks and passing.
§ Balance/Flexibility – Balance and flexibility will allow a soccer athlete to maintain a low center of gravity which will optimize their speed and power. Velocity’s Active-Dynamic Warm-Up and post-workout stretching will enable soccer athletes to increase joint range of motion and muscle flexibility.
